His previous incarnation of this style was slightly longer at the sides – but this new iteration looks sharper and cooler.
The Succession star has very fine, straight hair so this cut gives it a bit of oomph and makes it a look a little thicker than when he has it brushed down, or with a floppy fringe as his alter ego Lukas Matsson.

In a statement, the stylist explained: “For Alexander’s Met Gala look this year, I wanted his hair to be stylish, yet effortless and casual, complementing his most recent character role in Succession.
“I was able to style his hair with holding powder that was capable of a full night of interviews and red carpets, but not appear overly primped and polished.”
And, drumroll please…here are the styling products she used (all American Crew): first of all a moderate amount of the brand’s Fiber Grooming Foam was used for extra volume, then Alexander’s hair was blowdried with a diffuser (to reduce frizz and enhance the texture).
Next she finger combed Forming Cream throughout for a bit of hold and styling power, then she blowdried his hair for a second time using the diffuser.
MFH imagines while the hair was being blowdried, she parted it on the side, and shaped it up into the semi quiff, while sweeping it slightly back.
The finishing touch was Grooming Spray to set the look and keep it in place.
