Timothée Chalamet: Mid-Length Curly Hair With Swept Back Fringe
Dune star Timothee Chalamet has grown his hair out from his previous subtle mullet vibe, to this slightly longer, one-length curly look with a long fringe that he has pushed up and slightly back.
It might be a subtle change, but even the most microscopic tweaks to that luscious, glossy, barnet are noticed and lapped up by his fans.
Why We Love It:
Timothee Chalamet has the kind of tousled, laissez-faire curls that you just want to run your hands through.
This slightly longer, one-length curly hairstyle and long fringe that he’s casually pushed up and back shows off those lustrous curls to their best advantage.
And he spilled some secrets about that lusted-after barnet to Vogue recently.
Though, shockingly, he admitted to the interviewer: “You’re actually the first person to ask me about my hair.” (MFH can’t quite believe that, given the vested interest so many millions have in those curls).
But, damn, there’s no special secret to getting his shiny coils. “When I wake up, it’s a roll of the dice,” he admits. “And I get my hair from my dad.”
However, he did spill the name of his groomer, one Jamie Taylor who’s been working with him for six years, as well as loads of other celebs with on-point barnets, including MFH faves like Mark Ronson Austin Butler and Jared Leto.
Loving her work.
What To Ask Your Barber:
- If you’re blessed with curls and love Timothee’s hair, make sure you go to a barber or hairstylist who works a lot with different types of curly hair.
- You can get a good insight from their social media account.
- Always ask for time for a consultation first.
- While it looks like Timothee is growing his hair into more of a one-length haircut, his hairdresser will have put subtle layers and texture throughout to ensure it’s easy to style.
- Remember everyone’s hair and curl patterns are different, so what works for Timothee might not work for your curl type.
Get The Look
- To get the kind of frizz-free, shiny curls that Timothee has, you’ll need to put some work in.
- First tip? Don’t wash your hair too often – aim for 2-3 times a week maximum.
- And when you do wash your hair, use shampoos and conditioners that are as natural as possible without harsh chemicals like sulfates and parabens.
- Try a light, leave-in conditioner every day to help hydrate your hair.
- When you dry your hair, pat it gently – don’t rub it or it’ll cause frizz and breakage.
- Even better, use a microfibre hair towel, wrap your hair in it for about 15/20 minutes to help it dry quicker without damage.
- Start by using a curl cream to help bring out the shape of your curls.
- If you want a tousled look, you can spritz in a small amount of sea salt spray.
- Don’t use too much as it’ll make your hair feel gritty/sticky.
- Apply a heat protector all over the hair.
- Then blow dry your hair on medium heat.
- It’s best to try and use a diffuser on your hairdryer as that helps maintain the shape of the curl.
- Use a deep conditioner once a week – ideally overnight – to ensure your hair is regularly nourished and hydrated.
