Ricky Martin: Textured Pompadour Hairstyle With High Fade And Full Beard

Rated  4.0 4 Star
Ricky Martin has clearly not been Livin’ La Vida Loca (aka living the crazy life) since 1999 because the 52 year old’s hair – a textured pompadour and high fade – is as healthy and youthful looking as his face.
And MFH has the intel on how he stays looking so good…

Why We Love It:

Latino singer, Ricky Martin, 52, is back in the news again with his role in the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale. And his stylish haircut, in this short pompadour with high fade helps him maintain that youthful visage.

He spilled a few of his secrets to Vogue.com so it would be remiss of MFH not to share them.

His day starts with a lemon, honey, and garlic immune-boosting shot. And…silence. “For many years… I was so overwhelmed with what was happening in my life,” he recalls, mentioning that discovering meditation during a trip to India many years ago, saved him.

“I wish I could be in lotus position for three hours a day,” the father of four says about his daily practice. “But 15, 20 minutes, half an hour… it really makes a difference.”

He also name checks alkaline water, eye pads, an antioxidant moisturizer, and ice cubes as some more of his grooming essentials. (He glides the ice over his skin to boost circulation. Trust MFH – it works!)

Last but not least – the hero product he loves for his hair? It’s sea salt spray which he puts on the tips of his hair when he wants a bit of texture.

What To Ask Your Barber:

  • Ricky’s hair has a disconnected fade – it’s No 1 on the clippers at the sides near his forehead, then drops to a skin fade nearer the ears.
  • The top of his hair has been left around 1.5-2 inches long and would have been point cut to give a bit of texture and enable easy styling into a short pompadour.
  • To keep the fade looking sharp, you’ll need to visit your barber every 2-3 weeks for a touch-up.

Get The Look

  • For Ricky’s short pompadour look, use a water-based high-hold pomade with a high shine on your hair at the top.
  • Then spritz the hair with a heat protector.
  • Set your hairdryer on medium heat and using a round, vented brush roll the hair around it while holding it slightly up and back.
  • Start at the sides and work your way around to the front of the hair.
  • Use a tiny bit more product when the hair is dry to shape it a little more to the way you want it.
  • Finish with strong-hold hairspray.
