Why We Love It:
So great to see the Jean Paul Gaultier men’s fragrance line grow! The original Le Male was one of the first ‘proper’ fragrances I owned and it brings back some amazing memories every time I smell it.
Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal has all the hallmarks of a JPG scent but really ups the sophistication. A bright juicy opening of mandarin and sage leads down to a rich heart of caramel and tonka; before drying down to a warming woodsy base.
Don’t be deceived by the sweet notes at the heart, it’s not a gourmand scent, but it certainly does have a delicious fullness to it.
The projection is good and it sits beautifully on the skin. It’s an EDT and won’t last forever, but does have a great performance for the price point (ยฃ77 for 1ooml).
Wear this one all year round for an instant hit of elegance and warmth.

What They Say
Quentin Bisch, Christophe Raynaud and Natalie Cetto took as their starting point a fragrance that would be a true reflection of everything that Jean Paul Gaultier is. A very modern woody oriental.
As the starting point they took a โknock-outโ freshness, sage and the full-fruit mandarin, pulp and seeds included. Thatโs the head.
Next, they brought in an uppercut โcontactโ with an overdose of totally addictive tonka bean, to create a truly delectable skin note. Thatโs the heart.
Finally, they summoned into the ring a sensual vetiver to introduce the vibrant force of freshly cut wood. Thatโs the base.
In all these points of delicious tension, a fragrance that boxes in all categories.
