Ambery Fragrances
Ambery fragrances (formerly – and wrongly – oriental fragrances) are classically spicey, warm, rich, and mature. The key notes of an ambery fragrance tend to be earthy and woody due to heliotrope, sandalwood, coumarin, orris, and even vanilla.
The base notes tend to be where the heavy notes sit, which can make ambery fragrances last long, with a heavy and impactful a dry down.
The inspiration behind classic ambery fragrances stems from the birthplace of many scents; India and Arabia, which they were full of incense, spice, and musk.
