Fruity and floral, the new (September 2020) Jo Malone Fig & Lotus Flower Cologne is one that pleasantly surprised me.
From the name and the clear bottle, you’d be forgiven in thinking that this new Jo Malone launch is overtly floral and whimsical. Sure, there’s a strong floral thread throughout the fragrance but the juicy fig note gives it a rich and plump grounding. It’s bursting with energy.
Sillage is there, but not a huge performer; and the longevity is middle-of-the-road and fairly standard for Jo Malone fragrances.
Launched with Jo Malone Cypress & Grapevine Cologne Intense.
Fig & Lotus Flower Cologne
Fig & Lotus Flower, a luscious and graceful light floral Cologne. Lotus flowers skim the surface of a shimmering pond, their delicate water-splashed petals gliding down the shaded walkways. Sweeping over the plump, juicy figs that punctuate the bountiful trees
Top Note: Fig Leaf
The molecule Stemone provides a verdant leafy freshness and is combines with lactonic tones to create the distinctive milky scent of fig leaves.
Heart Note: Lotus Flower
Dewy and fresh, this accord creates a graceful light floral heart, representing a flower floating on water.
Base Note: Vetiver
Earthy and rich. Its grassy character harmonises with the citrus top notes, while its elegant intensity grounds and deepens the fragrance.
Jo Malone: Lost In Wonder Collection
Jo Malone London adds two scents to its fragrance collection: Fig & Lotus Flower and Cypress & Grapevine. Together they capture the fragrant essence of a majestic scene.
A lost moment in time, imagined in the present. Enter a place of fabled beauty lovingly created by a gallant king for his wistful queen under the blazing sun. Faithfully tended, flush with water-splashed flowers and ripe fruits, trailing vines and statuesque trees. A wonder to behold.
These two new fragrances can be paired with each other or another from Jo Malone London’s collection to create a personalised scent.
