Why We Love It:
You can see why American Crew Fiber has become so iconic. When it was launched in the 90s, it was like nothing else out there.
Fast forward 20+ years and the market has grown and product technology has advanced.
This product is no-frills and styles fine, but is it something I reach for or get excited using? No!
I’d cast my eye to Label.M Matt Paste, Bumble and bumble Sumotech or even a hair clay.
It’s a fairly basic hair styling product.
Soft but waxy in consistency; but easily worked through the hair.
Styles well with resistance and grip that can be used to add volume to the hair.
What They Say
“Fiber-like, resinous product helps thicken, texturize and increase fullness to hair. Provides a strong, pliable hold with a matte finish. Works well in shorter hair, 1-3 inches in length. For high hold with low shine.”
For me and my thick hair, I would say that it really did tug at my hair when applying to the hair and the finish is also very greasy. Not only that I was disappointed with the application process and the finish, the hold was weak in my hair type and the washout was a nightmare to get out of the hair. The only positive is the scent and that’s pretty much it. The product is just as bad as Layrite Cement clay which I wished I could have rated it as one star instead of a two star. I would reach for other products over this such as By Vilian Gold Digger, Dry wax by O Douds, and Monarch Matte Paste by Blumaan.
