Steven Yeun: Short, Swept Back Hairstyle
Steven Yeun’s hair is a timeless, classic ‘do – and with a thick, shiny barnet like his, we’re not surprised the Beef and Walking Dead actor doesn’t want to mess with a good thing.
Why We Love It:
MFH has no, ahem, beef with actor Steven Yeun’s classic, polished, hairstyle.
Exuding a timeless appeal, this hairstyle has a little volume to elongate Steven’s face, and the swept-back styling opens his face up and highlights that incredible bone structure.
It’s a look that works just as well at a swanky, black tie event, as with a white T-shirt and jeans at a BBQ.
It’s best for hair that’s relatively thick, but if you’ve got fine hair your barber will be able to texturise it to make it easier to style so it sits well and doesn’t go too flat.
What To Ask Your Barber:
-
To get Steven Yeun’s loose swept back look, ask your barber to scissor cut in long layers.
-
The length on top looks to be around 2 inches or so.
-
The sides of the hair have enough length to subtly sweep back with product.
-
And the back of the hair has been tapered into the top of the neck.
-
Ask for tips on how to style this look so you can recreate it easily at home.
Get The Look
- Invest in a hairdryer so you can recreate Steven’s hairstyle with ease at home.
-
When your hair is towel dry apply a golf ball-sized amount of volumising mousse to the roots.
-
Then blowdry your hair, lifting it up with a vent brush for a bit of volume, then sweeping it back gently.
-
Take a tiny amount of pomade, warming it up in your hands first, then run it through your hair to mould it into the shape you like.
-
Using any leftover product on your hands, smooth the sides of your hair back, then brush it through.
