What To Ask Your Barber:

• This length is enough to showcase the natural curls and create the tousled fringe.
• Your stylist will most likely use a point cutting technique to add texture and a softer edge to the hair, and prevent a blunt finish.
• If the hair is very thick and curly, your barber may use thinning shears to reduce bulk.
• The fringe, when wet and not styled, would come to a couple of centimetres above the fringe.
• Discuss the fringe length with your hairdresser first to ensure they understand what length you are comfortable with.
• The fringe has a lot of texture and definition so the hairstylist will need to cut into it so it’s not too heavy.
• The back and sides are tapered, which has been achieved via clippers – and possibly a clipper over comb technique – using a higher guard and progressing down to a lower guard while blending skilfully and ensuring a smooth transition.
