I’m in the top 25 of fragrance creators in the U

I’m in the top 25 of fragrance creators in the UK (slide 2!)… but can I let you in on a little secret? Over the past year, my fragrance content on Man For Himself has exploded (in the best possible way) - reaching so many more of you and connecting me with some of the most incredible brands. But here’s the thing: I only now feel truly comfortable talking about fragrance.

When I started blogging in 2011, I didn’t touch fragrance content. It felt like art or wine - an exclusive world for those who had the knowledge, vocabulary, and money to engage properly. My first attempts at fragrance content were clunky rehashes of press releases - a car crash of notes, “inspiration,” and jargon.

Everything changed when I stopped reading and started feeling. I ditched the press releases and focused on the experience - thinking about who might (or might not!) wear a fragrance and how it made me feel. It all came down to storytelling.

Notes are the building blocks, and press releases are marketing, but fragrance is about feeling and emotion.

I may be working my ass off, but I’m having so much fun. Thank you for sticking with me.
