Tom Ford invites you to experience his Private Rose Garden Collection. But which is the best and are they worth your cash?
Tom Ford has just launched three new rose fragrances for 2022. Rose D’Amalfi, Rose De Chine and Rose De Russie are each beautiful scents, but there will definitely be rose fragrance that is a better fit for you.
The three Private Blend perfumes are each available in a 50ml size or as part of a discovery set – 3 x 10ml samples with an atomiser.

Tom Ford Rose D’Amalfi
Tom Ford Rose D’Amalfi is the closest of the three new Tom Ford Private Rose Garden Collection fragrances to that of Tom Ford Rose Prick.
The mandarin and bergamot notes are fleeting – if there at all – but it is packed full of freshly cut roses, coated in a candied powdery-pink sweetness.
If Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wore a fragrance, it would be this. Sweet and whimsical on first appearance, but ballsy on the base.
Energetic and playful with a hint of bubble-gum blowing sweetness.
Tom Ford Rose D’Amalfi Notes
- Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Indian Mandarin, Bergamot
- Middle Notes: Rose
- Base Notes: Almond, Heliotrope
Tom Ford Rose De Chine
Tom Ford Rose De Chine is one of three new Private Rose Garden Collection fragrances from Tom Ford.
A fresh floral opening with a rose heart and a delicate amber base, this is a beautiful, delicate rose launch from Tom Ford.
The base is less deep than I’d hope for which, in reality, means the performance is fairly mediocre. It’s a fun fragrance but certainly not one of the best Private Blend fragrances from Tom Ford.
Tom Ford Rose De Chine Notes
- Top Notes: Chinese peony
- Middle Notes: Rose
- Base Notes: Labdanum, Myrrh
Tom Ford Rose De Russie
Tom Ford Rose De Russie is a dark and mysterious stranger. As he enters the room, all eyes are drawn towards him and his heavy, black velvet cloak. As he removes it, a blood-red smoking jacket is revealed. He’s confident, moody and alluring.
One of three new fragrances from the Tom Ford Private Rose Garden Collection, Rose De Russie is a gorgeous smoky leather fragrance with a lively rose heart. It’s a perfect variation on the rose theme and definitely shows what can be done with a bit of imagination.
Like the other two new launches, the performance is fine but it’s not blowing my mind. I really would like to see – and smell – more, for longer on the skin.
