Not one for their clothing, but their fragrances are delicious!

I was a huge fan of Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct and I’m pleased to say that Abercrombie & Fitch Authentic is another stellar launch.

Key notes of grapefruit, ginger, and suede make it young, it’s playful and extremely wearable.

Abercrombie & Fitch Authentic Key Notes

Top – Grapefruit, Bergamont, Pink Pepper.

Middle – Ginger, Sage, Lavender.

Base – Clearwood, Moss, Suede.

What They Say

Authentic for Men is an aromatic fragrance with refreshing citrus overtone. The lightness of the scent is balanced with warm, earthy and masculine elements. The sharp spice of ginger, the savory nature of sage and calming lavender come together to form the heart of the scent. Earthy clearwood and the slight bitterness of moss lend a touch of masculinity to the base.

Bought a 30ml for my dad, but ended up using it myself. It’s a mix of straight up freshness (I get grape vibe) with a traditional spice kick, that you usually get with British brands like Burberry. Longevity and silage is average, losing the freshness but retaining the spice.

Overall, I like it a lot. Easy to wear, appropriate for autumn/spring, and in the office but not for a formal event.

My only gripe is that the mix between freshness and spice feels a bit forced. As if they had a good fresh fragrance that needed something extra, and the spice was added after. Not going to be noticeable to most people, but I wanted to flag it. An example of a fragrance that combines these aspects better would be Acqua di Gio Profumo.

Worth a shot, very good value!
