Is there a right way to part and style your hair? Which way should you part your hair? Is there a right or wrong; and does it really matter?
So many of us men don’t know which way to part our hair. Left or right, that’s the question. It seems a little bit crazy, but actually, you only know if you know.
Follow these top tips to find the best way for you to part and style your hair.
Your parting: How does your hair naturally sit?
If you already know which way your hair naturally sits, perfect, you’re one step ahead. However for those of us who are less sure, giving your hair a little shake after a wash and a quick towel dry will allow it to fall into its natural parting.
Whichever way this sits is your natural part and style direction. If it sits from the left to the right, pop your parting in on the left.
Your parting: Consider your crown.
Taking into account where your hair grows from, your crown, is key. If your crown spirals from left to right (clockwise), this is how your hair will naturally sit.
If it spirals right to left (anti-clockwise), then your hair will best sit from right to left.
If In Doubt…
Your parting: Ask the experts.
Making a quick visit to your barber is always helpful. They’re the expert! Your barber will be able to advise on where you should place your part and help you to find a style that suits you.
If you’re still unsure, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Working with hair is a barber’s job and they will be more than happy to help.
Your parting: Your style.
It must be said that although these tips will tell you which way your hair naturally wants to be styled, there really is no better judgement than your own.
For many of us, the way our hair naturally falls is not necessarily the way we want it styled. At the end of the day there really is no right or wrong when it comes to parting and styling.
Style your hair for you and how you prefer it, because it’s true what they say, if you feel good – you’ll look good!
