Every man should have at least one good watch in his life.
Even the most simple of outfits – a basic tee, jeans and boots – can be lifted and finished off perfectly with the right kind of watch.
The newest addition to my collection (and fuelling my obsession) is the Delmar watch by US brand Jord.
Aged in the open air and sealed with natural oil extracts, the brand uses a range of wood types (ebony, koa, purpleheart, zebrawood, rosewood, sandalwood, maple and bamboo) to create their watch straps; and sapphire glass for the face.
My watch has been handcrafted with dark sandalwood and has a contrasting red carbon face. Also available in black, green, white and blue carbon, the Delmar face brings a contemporary twist to a classic shape.
Although the watch looks chunky, it’s surprisingly light and doesn’t weigh my wrist down. In these pictures, I’ve stacked the watch with different bracelets to add a little bit more movement to the overall look.
Finish
The natural dark sandalwood is hand finished and pretreated with tung oils.
