We all have those items of clothing that hang around at the bottom of our wardrobe never to see the light of day again.
Much like the discarded toys of Toy Story 2 (that film really affected me), the clothes of my wardrobe floor lie still and dormant, dreaming of days gone by; days when they were the one shooting pictures for Instagram and videos for YouTube.
It was only when I dropped a belt that I found this absolute beauty. Rummaging through the piles of eBay, charity shop and ‘not quite sure’ clothing, my eye was drawn towards a star. Not just one star, but a sleeve of stars.
Bright, quilted and oh so eighties, this was the quilted bomber jacket of dreams. How could I have forgotten about it? And to think I almost binned it!
Styling with my new ripped Levi’s 501 jeans and white Converse, this was not only an opportunity for me to experiment with print and colour, but this was a chance for my Reclaimed Vintage bomber jacket to be reclaimed once again.
You may be reading this thinking that I live in a fantasy land, a utopia of equality for all clothes, but this world is the reality at the bottom of your wardrobe.
I implore you, sort through those old clothes and breathe life back into an old favourite.
