There’s vetiver there’s lavender, there’s bergamot, there’s cedarwood, there’s patchouli, and the star of the show, Vietnamese Oud – which with these woods gives you something a little leathery and really animalic on the skin.
It’s got this sensual, sort of, evening effect – something that feels really elevated and really does have a performance and a presence.

In this denser and more woody interpretation of Sauvage, Francis Kurkdjian, Dior Perfume Creative Director, imagined an extrait de parfum for men. True to Sauvage’s pioneering spirit, this intense trail with animalic accents pushes the limits of concentration.
The beating heart of the composition, the precious essence of Vietnamese oud – sourced from a Dior supplier that complies with the high standards of traceability and practices – leaves its animalic imprint with leather notes in a chiaroscuro of noble woods.
The dark and enveloping essence of Indonesian patchouli contrasts with the light, creamy essences of Madagascan vetiver and Virginia cedarwood. A sensual and powerful base is contrasted by a fresh and aromatic top accord of bergamot and an essence of AOP lavender from Provence.
