08 Feb Music Nights With The Orange At Cubitt House | Review
Finally! Dry January is over and the looming sadness of being broke after Christmas has come to an end – phew! You’re back on the social scene and what better way to get into the swing of things than a swing music night itself!
Nestled on a corner just off Pimlico Road in London lies The Orange. The pub and hotel offers music nights every third Wednesday of the month as part of their ‘Beat The January Blues’ concept which we just had to try!
The Orange has a premium yet relaxed vibe. On entering, you head through the main restaurant and down the stairs to find the Garden Atrium Bar. This isn’t your usual Camden- hipster underground dig. It’s a visual delight with an exposed brick bar and paisley print wallpaper. It’s the perfect home from home. Take a seat on the [surprisingly comfy] wooden chairs and flick through the menu… you won’t be disappointed.
The menu is reasonably priced and is the perfect mix of your traditional pub-style home comforts; and some more adventurous fare.
Throughout the course of the evening, waiters served us rustic mini burgers, mackerel paté on rye breads and goats cheese tarts (to name a few!); and if the tasters were anything to go by then the rest of the menu will be just as delicious.
When it comes to drinks, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice with an extensive wine menu and list of craft beers. If you’re feeling particularly fancy then why not indulge in the Grand Cru champagne – it’ll only set you back £178. Casual.

The real piece-de-resistance was of course, the music. On launch night we were lucky to hear acoustic duo Lounge Blizzard perform, whose soft yet lively sound perfectly matched the atmosphere at The Orange.
The Garden Atrium Bar is small and intimate, so the pair could easily engage with the audience, happily taking requests and chatting to us between songs. During the course of their 2 hour set, Lounge Blizzard played a fun mixture of traditional swing and chart classics, remixing them to their unique sound.
What was particularly noticeable was how welcoming the staff at The Orange were. They couldn’t have done any more to make us feel at home. If you catch a good song, you might even get to witness the waiters having a little boogie themselves!

The Orange sits just off Pimlico Road, a short walk from Sloane Square Underground. But if you’re feeling particularly boujee, jump in a cab from Pimlico – it’s only a few minutes journey.
The Orange also boasts four beautifully designed bedrooms – perfect if you fancy extending your evening to a leisurely mid-week retreat!
You can check for availability and book rooms here.
The Orange will host their next music night on Wednesday 21st February in The Garden Atrium Bar. There’s no need to book, simply arrive at 6:30pm for a night of fun!
