Ryan Gosling: Highlighted Softly Textured Hairstyle

4.0 4 Star

Giving off the ultimate ‘Kenergy’ Ryan Gosling’s highlighted, softly textured hairstyle might not be the extreme platinum look of his Barbie alter ego, but it still looks like Ken has spent a lot of time on the beach.

MFH says

Ryan Gosling’s highlighted, softly textured hairstyle actually is more flattering than his usual, much shorter, ivy league/gentleman’s haircut.

While the Barbie star is undeniable heart throb, he does have a long face, so the extra hair length softens his whole look.

The golden colour, courtesy of warm blonde highlights add real depth and dimension to his natural base hair colour which is a little…mousey.

And it really sets off his Ken doll tan..

MFH also loves that he’s got the hint of a fringe and has pulled down some strands onto his forehead.

But unlike Ken, he’s had fun with the texture on top, and tousled the hell out of it.

  • Ryan Gosling’s highlighted, softly textured hairstyle is a flattering look for his long face shape.
  • It has been skillfully point cut into layers throughout.
  • The layers on the top of the head are a little shorter to enable ease of styling.
  • The layers at the side of the head are long enough to slightly sweep back.
  • The colour has obviously been professionally done – you don’t get highlights that blend in that well and look that natural without serious skill.
  • So unless you’re a hairdresser, don’t try it at home!

  • Ryan Gosling’s highlighted, softly textured hairstyle doesn’t need a lot of product to style it, but it will need a lot of TLC.
  • The highlights will need to be done every few months or so to keep the colour looking fresh.
  • As any kind of bleach damages your hair, you need to look after it.
  • Don’t wash it more than 2-3 times a week, and when you do, always use the most natural, nourishing products.
  • Condition the hair every time you wash it.
  • If you blowdry your hair regularly, always use a heat protecting product first.
  • To style the hair, apply a texturising spray, or a sea salt spray in it first.
  • Let it dry naturally, tousling it as it dries, or use a hairdryer on medium heat, tousling the texture on top with your fingers.
  • Finish with a matt pomade or clay to play with the texture more.
  • Pull some strands down onto your forehead.
  • Use your fingers to subtly sweep the sides of the hair back.
